Viking Rune Art Workshop with Year 4 Healey Primary Learners

Year 4 learners from Healey Primary School joined us at Falinge Park High School on the 14th of February 2017 to discover about Viking runes and how they served many purposes. Students got to create their own message using Furthark runes and then create pastel and 3D artwork. Students will produce a final rune stone that will be showcased as part of our ‘Global Earthworks’ Project Showcase at the People’s History Museum which takes place on the 2nd of July 2017 to an audience of approximately 600 people. Students discovered the dyes and materials used to create runes and how they served both as an alphabet and a symbol for places, beliefs and ideas.
