‘Aboriginal Ngurra’ Camp Out Residential 19th & 20th of May 2017
Year 6 Heybrook Primary learners and Year 7 Falinge Park High School ‘Global Earthworks’ Ambassadors brought our highly successful ‘Aboriginal Ngurra’ sessions to a tremendous close with an overnight residential at FPHS on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th of May 2017. Learners pitched their tents and gathered firewood, prepared their own evening meal and took part in a range of workshops on Friday evening. Sessions included the making of a large piece of collective artwork in the shape of Uluru or ‘Ayers Rock’, decorated with aboriginal art, an aboriginal percussion and didgeridoo workshop using instruments that learners had made themselves during the project, a dodgeball session, a physical skills workshop and a storytelling session and camp fire. Saturday morning saw learners pack away their tents and equipment and tidy away after a brilliant overnight stay! Well done to all the learners involved and thanks to all the staff who made the whole ‘Aboriginal Ngurra’ project possible! For more details, contact Ms Wystawnoha, Mr Cloran or Mr De Courcey.
